Talk
Life, lineage, birth, upbringing, and adventures of a backend
For the last 4 years, I’ve been working on the development and definition of topi’s backend, a fintech startup. I’ve witnessed and taken part in decisions from its creation to its recent integration into a larger group. In this talk, we’ll take a short journey through the challenges we’ve encountered, the decisions we made, and the lessons learned from them.
Does microservices solve everything? Are a few acceptance tests better than many unit tests? Is CQRS the solution to your problems? How far can we postpone decisions? What is the long-term cost of the chosen programming language and frameworks? We’ll ask ourselves these and a few more questions—not to give you answers, but to leave you with new doubts.
