I have been a CTO twice, and neither time was it in my plans: the team grew, decisions that belonged to nobody piled up, and I started making them. Both times I have looked for the same thing: to understand things well, to get to the essence and to keep it simple. It’s hard, but it’s what motivates me.

At 540 I am fully immersed in AI. We want a software factory where the software solves a problem for the people who use it, without anyone needing to read the code, and where we can still sleep peacefully. That’s what we’re working on, sharing what works for us and what doesn’t. And for years I have helped organise Pamplona Software Crafters, to get together with people who ask themselves the same questions.
